The Sustainable Transformation of Youth in Liberia (STYL) project is a NEPI program implemented in Liberia and evaluated by the Innovation for Poverty Action (IPA) a decade ago. The project recruited 999 at-risk youth in Monrovia to test the effectiveness and impact of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and cash transfer. NEPI design the STYL project to promote future orientation, self-discipline, and norms of non-violence, pro-social behavior to mainstream these youth back into society.
After a decade of the STYL implementation, IPA, the research institution that evaluated the STYL impact, has decided to implement a follow-up survey to track the project participants to see its continued effects on the beneficiaries. The activities will cover the pilot testing of survey instruments, the endline survey, and the follow up tracking survey. During the STYL intervention decade ago, NEPI recruited the participants for the STYL project. Due to NEPI's experience with the target youth population, their neighborhoods where they lived, and skilled personnel to undertake the project, IPA signed a subaward agreement with NEPI as a subrecipient to work on the project.
